Timeline & Submission Guidelines

  • June 25 - Session submissions open
  • July 31 - Submissions are due by midnight PDT
  • August 14 - Selected speakers will be notified by this date
  • August 21 - Session schedule posted
  • September 4 - Early bird registration ends
  • October 2 - Regular registration ends
  • General sessions are 45 minutes. We encourage you to use part of that time for Q&A.
  • Sessions should share knowledge and enhance the community, rather than sell products or services.
  • Speakers will receive a $25 discount on conference tickets. We also offer discounts for students and those facing financial challenges.

That's right! Our community wants to learn about how websites can be more impactful, which can be explored through various topics and demonstrations.

Suggested Topics

Here are a few topics that our organizers felt might be helpful to consider, but your submissions don't need to be limited to just these:

  • Contributing to Open Source
  • Automating Processes & Workflows
  • Visual Design & Images
  • Content Strategy
  • Measuring & Analytics

Session Formats

We are considering these types of sessions:

  • Presentation
  • Interactive Discussion
  • Panel
  • Hands-On Workshop 
  • Training (2.5 hours)

We will also have time outside of sessions for a keynote, Birds-of-a-Feather, lightning talks, and a community groups fair. See our Program Overview page for more details.

How to Submit

  1. Create an account, if you don't already have one.
  2. Check your email to activate the account and set your password.
  3. Log in to your account.
  4. Add a session, providing a title, description, short description, audience, and session format.
  5. Select yourself as the speaker and add any co-speakers (they'll need to create an account first before you can add them).
  6. Save the session as "Proposed."

FAQ

What if I need to make changes to my proposal?

Please email info@pnwdrupalsummit.org and we will update the proposal in the system.

Do speakers get a discount or free ticket?

We are pleased to offer accepted speakers a $25 discount on conference tickets. You will receive a discount code if your session is accepted.

Will I receive credit for speaking?

If you provide your Drupal.org profile link on your user profile here, we will list you as a speaker on the Community Event page. The event will then appear on your Drupal.org profile.

Will sessions be recorded?

Pending additional funding, we will be requesting conference recording kits from Drupal Recording Initiative and plan to record the sessions, which would be posted to our YouTube channel after the conference. Please consider sponsoring us to make this happen!
