One place that Drupal sites come up short is in the interactivity and instant response of search and discovery screens
This talk will illustrate the great work in the Drupal Search Web Components module, and how to extend if to
1) use different search backends, SOLR, Mellisearch, TypeSense and ElasticSearch, we will compare the different controls and behaviours of these stacks
2) search within documents and attachments
3) control and adjust relevancy scoring and results
4) deliver an instant set of results to users in an Javascript frontend within a Drupal theme
As part of the presentation, we'll have a workshop to discuss how other people in the community are approaching search and look forward to comparing notes.
