There are over 50,000 modules available in the Drupal ecosystem. While initiatives like Project Browser and Drupal CMS (Starshot) promise to make these options easier to discover and enable, the fact is most of us are building sites today. Site builders want to identify a curated set of modules that will make our sites look and perform better, and we want to understand the rationale for using them.
This session will help you learn about key modules that can benefit any Drupal site, large or small, by providing essential utilities, improving the admin experience, or adding an extra bit of finesse for end users. We’ll review modules in three categories:
- Essential utilities that add basic functionality to support SEO and security
- Helpful interface improvements for administrators
- Tools that allow you to quickly add usability enhancements for end users
For each module, I’ll explain what it is, why you should use it, and any special considerations to keep in mind when configuring it. Adding or revisiting these modules on your site can improve the overall user experience and content quality.
This session is targeted at beginners, but even seasoned pro’s may learn something new. They can also share their recommendations for must-have modules during the Q&A discussion.
