Not everything we build needs to scale, hustle, or monetize. Sometimes, you just want to make something because you want it to exist.
I’ll discuss how I’m using open-source tools to build a tool to organize my family's archive of photos and letters. As a bootcamp grad with little professional experience, I'll also talk about how I used “vibe coding” to build beyond my current skillset, and how the project helped me explore new things and gain some experience.
It could also be a good moment to discuss impostor syndrome and hear about other people's experiences with it. I don't really have any business speaking at a Drupal conference. Will anyone be able to tell that despite being in my 40s I'm actually an Uber Eats driver, and not a successful developer earning mid six figures?
