Vanessa Turke, User Experience Specialist & Information Architect
Vanessa has been providing profesional services for variety of online applications in eCommerce, higher education, enterprise, entertainment and hospitality for the last decade. As an advocate for user needs, her goal is to ensure site objectives are mapped to feature sets effectively (balancing business goals, functional specifications and site usability) being mindful of budget but with a keen eye on long term goals.
Vanessa helps to define and organize the content and structure of web applications to make them easier for real people to use. Whether it be designing user experience research studies to learn more about user behavior, designing topic hierarchies based on user's needs, or creating intuitive navigation and search systems, everything is geared towards optimal user experience. User Experience Design is an integral part of any project, as it considers a growth-driven, user-centred model of site content and provides insight and direction for mission-critical site tasks, serving as a ‘blueprint’ for user-friendly navigation, content categorization, layout and task workflow.
Vanessa is devotee of Growth Driven Design.
GDD is a smarter approach to website development and redesign. Rather than spending months planning, designing and building a website based on hypothetical assumptions, GDD uses goal creation and strategy to quickly create a website that will be continuously tested and analyzed. The GDD approach to website development allows you to build and maintain a website that evolves and meets the needs of both you and your user.
The result is a website that is continuously evolving and built in stages according to assumptions that are validated or invalidated based on data, and where features are rolled out in a manner that both inform and are informed by experiences and learnings from the marketing and sales teams. This approach increases the potential impact that the website can have on business objectives, and minimizes the risk inherent to a website redesign.
